Women Artistic | Men Artistic | Trampoline
At the 2008 Olympic Games, the fields for the gymnastics disciplines are based on the results of the respective 2007 World Championships and will be determined as follows (qualifications apply to the country/federation, unless otherwise noted):
- Artistic gymnastics -- 98 men and 98 women; top 12 federations/teams (72 gymnasts) at the 2007 World Championships; 22 athletes based on performances at the World Championships; three wild card selections by the FIG to ensure athletes from the host country and each continent are included; and one from the IOC Tripartite Commission.
- Rhythmic gymnastics –- 24 gymnasts; 20 based on performances at the 2007 World Championships; three wild card selections by the FIG to ensure athletes from the host country and each continent are included; and one from the IOC Tripartite Commission; medals awarded in individual all-around and group; the four events are clubs, ribbon, rope and ball.
- Trampoline -– 16 men and 16 women; 13 gymnasts based on performances at the World Championships; two gymnasts are nominated by the FIG to ensure athletes from the host country and each continent are included; and one from the IOC Tripartite Commission.
Selection of U.S. gymnasts
The U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Gymnastics are scheduled for June 19-22 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.
